Annie Irene Wharton and Franklin
J. Gladden are recognized for serving and building relationships in their
community. Over many decades, they both became widely known on the urban
streets of Winston-Salem, NC for their munificence toward the homeless and
other disenfranchised members of their community. Neither of them was
able to make generous monetary gifts, but both became adept to making
donations of their time, talent, and energy. They perfected the use of
natural weapons such as love and humility to conquer the challenges of
life, achieve dreams and goals, and establish an unwavering legacy of
immutable principles. From those principles, we have given birth to
Wharton Gladden & Company, a Firm that is anchored by fundamental values
such as honesty and integrity. We are committed to building relationships
in the business community, and furthermore, we are dedicated to the
proliferation of our founding principles.
Wharton Gladden & Co. is a privately owned capital
markets group created to address the ever-growing need for capital and
sound investment opportunities in the Southeast. The Firm’s partners began
growing the trust of institutional and individual investors when it
successfully entered the marketplace as a whole loan-trading group.
Wharton Gladden assisted institutions and individuals to liquidate a
variety of cash flow instruments ranging from residential and commercial
mortgage portfolios, auto notes, business notes and credit card accounts.
We soon realized that commercial property owners
were in great need for additional options for commercial real estate
financing outside their traditional banking relationships.
One year later, the Capital Markets Division began to establish
loan production offices in the Southeast to create a regional footprint in
which to serve commercial property owners. The
popularity of the Firm has grown rapidly, and so has our passion to
provide commercial property owners with the most efficient financial
solutions. Truly, we are “The Standard of Financial
Excellence.”
